Is your Neck and Shoulder Pain serious? Most shoulder and neck pain causes are not a serious condition. The reason your shoulder is sore is that the neck and upper back are just not working correctly. If you have had a fall or injury and suddenly develop shoulder and neck pain - seek help. Any injury may affect the many sensitive structures in your neck and upper back. Shoulder and neck pain if they occur together may relate to disc injuries. This is more likely if you are having neck and arm pain, rather than shoulder pain. Pain that travels down the arm to any extent may indicate more severe problems. But as in all pain conditions - if you have had a fall, injury or pain is not easing quickly - seek help from a health professional. The first step to remove your pain The majority of neck and shoulder pain will ease quickly and easily. Even faster if you perform a few simple stretches and techniques to help get those areas moving again. The joints and muscles in the area are smaller than the lower back areas. They cause more pain because they are more sensitive. Not good when pain is there. The good news is - they also respond quicker to certain techniques and exercises. Neck and shoulder pain will ease quickly if you:

  • Get the joints in the upper back and neck to move freely.
  • Relax the tighter muscles in the upper back and shoulder area.
  • Reset the fiber length of the muscles so they remain relaxed.
  • Learn to remove the common stresses on your upper back and neck.

Neck and shoulder pain can feel like a serious problem. The limited movement you have it not a serious problem. To remove your pain, you still need to address all the factors causing it. The first step though is not pain relief but detection. You need to find the causes of your pain, what distortion patterns exists in your spine that allow your muscular and joint imbalances. These are the causes, not how you sit stand lift or bend. What is the best approach to ease your Neck and Shoulder Pain? To get long lasting results you must both remove the symptoms and the cause. First you must identify which spinal imbalances are present, then attack the symptomatic processes. This can be achieved by using many techniques from ice/heat, Acupressure and anti-inflammatory measures. Then you must perform corrective techniques that target the spinal imbalances. The principles of Spinal Balancing address the both the pain and the root cause of the condition that is responsible for your lower right back pain. Through self assessments, your individual spinal imbalances can be identified, and a targeted corrective program can be developed for your specific needs. > > Next

Yeast is the most common cause of fungal ear infections in dogs, but bacterial infections, both pathogenic (picked up from outside) and non-pathogenic (such as staph) are also quite common. Ear mites can also cause head shaking and scratching, and a veterinarian can quickly determine if dog ear mites are the cause, and may prescribe an antiparasitic medicine (not expensive nor complicated to use) to eliminate the mites in short order.  Use Banixx as a soothing agent, home remedy for the ear tissue and to treat the infection caused by the ear mites. Unlike many a dog ear medicine, Banixx has no odor/foreign scent and no burn/sting making treatment a breeze.

Allergens  in the environment make some dogs prone to ear infections. Allergens which can affect your dog’s ears include mold, dust, pollen, and certain foods.  There is a lot of information on the internet which claims food allergies cause ear infections in dogs, however there is no scientific proof available to back up this claim.  While humans often react to molds, dust and pollen with respiratory problems, dogs often reaction to allergens with skin, anal-gland, and ear problems. A dog’s reaction to allergens can create an ideal environment for infections. Even though EcoEars can eliminate the symptoms, you should be aware of which allergens your dog is exposed to and remove them from his environment.

Keep in mind the biggest filter organ in the body is the skin so when these toxins leak out of the contained system and into the bloodstream, they eventually make their way to the outer layer, the skin, and deposit the toxins on the surface of the skin causing itching, irritation, odor and then a secondary bacterial infections become a problem as well. Reoccurring ear infections are often treated with antibiotic, which don't even touch yeast infections of the ears, and in fact make it worse as it destroys the beneficial bacteria of the ear canal, altering the pH of the ear and making it comfy for yeast to want to grow there.

I agree. If it were me, I would definitely insist on the referral. Those masses in her ear need to be addressed and she is in pain…in my opinion, doing nothing is not an option at this point. If your vet will not give you a referral to a specialist (which I can’t imagine he wouldn’t, but….), I would contact your local veterinary teaching hospital or university to see if they can recommend someone. Also, I see from your email address that you are in the UK…do you have the equivalent of our American Veterinary Medical Association in the UK? The AVMA has a resource list of veterinarians by specialty on their website, so hopefully you have access to the same! I would definitely follow your instincts and seek out a second opinion as soon as you can. Good luck, and please keep me updated!
